Retired AIG Longe is dead

A retired Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police, Bola Longe, has passed away.
The Chairman of the Ibadan branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ibrahim Lawal, confirmed the news on Monday during a phone interview with The Guardian in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Lawal had earlier issued a statement announcing Longe’s death.
In the statement made available to The Guardian, the NBA Chairman expressed condolences on behalf of the Bar to Longe’s family and Emmanuel Chambers.
The statement read: “The death has been announced of Pastor Bola Longe AIG (Rtd), a partner at Afe Babalola & Co., which sad event happened yesterday. The Bar commiserates with the family and Emmanuel Chambers. May Almighty God repose his soul.”
Longe retired from the Nigeria Police Force after 33 years and eight months of meritorious service to his country. At the time of his retirement, he was in charge of Federal Operations at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
He was an alumnus of both the University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos.
In 2021, Longe dismantled one of the largest syndicates of railway line vandals in North Central Nigeria.
