Rufus Giwa Polytechnic student hacked to death in Ondo

A student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, identified as Oluwaseun, has been killed by unknown assailants in a brutal attack outside the institution’s premises.
The deceased, a student of Mass Communication, was reportedly macheted to death at Opomulero Street in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Council in Ondo State.
Sources within the institution described the incident as gruesome, revealing that Oluwaseun had only recently gained admission into the polytechnic.
A fellow student, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “He had spent just a few weeks on campus. He was our course representative and also a musician. It is painful that we lost him so soon. Sadly, he was attacked with a machete.”
Confirming the incident, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Samuel Ojo, described the killing as unfortunate.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said an investigation had commenced to uncover those responsible for the attack.
