RUGIPO’s ex-council chair calls for upgrading of Ondo Poly to varsity
The immediate past chairman of the Governing Council of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, Banji Alabi, has urged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to upgrade the polytechnic to the status of a university.
According to Alabi, the move will not only revolutionize the economy of the state but will create a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
Alabi, who made the appeal while congratulating Aiyedatiwa on his landslide victory at the poll, stated that by leveraging the institution’s resources and expertise, the governor can position the state as a leader in technological advancement and economic growth.
He said: “As you begin your new term, I urge you to continue ruling with fairness, justice, and equity, catering to the needs of all individuals regardless of social status or background.
“I implore you to leverage your position to bring hope, relief, and empowerment to the marginalized and downtrodden majority. May your leadership be guided by the constitution, the rule of law, and an unwavering commitment to justice and fairness.
