Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the military in ensuring peace and security.
Sani’s pledge to the military was made during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony held at the main bowl of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on Wednesday.
The Governor was represented by the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman Dahiru.
He paid tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes, saying, “Their sacrifices will never be forgotten, and we will continue to honor their memory.”
Sani also commended the military for their bravery and sacrifice in tackling insecurity in Kaduna and Nigeria.
He said that security was a collective effort and pledged to continue supporting the military and other security agencies to achieve a peaceful and secure state.
According to him, “We are here to remember our fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the peace and security of the nation.Their sacrifices will never be forgotten, and we will continue to honor their memory.
“We commend the military for their efforts in tackling insecurity in Kaduna and Nigeria. Their bravery and sacrifice are appreciated, and we will continue to support them.
“We will continue to support the military and other security agencies in their efforts to ensure peace and security in Kaduna State. We believe that security is a collective effort, and we will continue to work together to achieve our goal of a peaceful and secure state.”
The Governor pledged to prioritize the welfare of widows and orphans of fallen heroes, ensuring they are empowered and lifted out of poverty.
Meanwhile, after the Remembrance Day ceremony, the Speaker and other dignitaries visited wounded soldiers at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in the state capital.
The ceremony was attended by top government officials, military personnel, heads of security agencies in the state, traditional leaders, and other stakeholders, demonstrating a united front in honoring the nation’s fallen heroes and supporting the military’s efforts to ensure peace and security.
