
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu,has called for strong collaboration between Lagos residents and security agencies to enhance safety across the state.
The governor, while emphasising the importance of community collaboration, urged residents to be vigilant and actively contribute to the state’s efforts at maintaining a secure environment.
Sanwo-Olu gave the charge during the 17th yearly town hall meeting of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) on the theme: “Security Complexities and Convergence: The Lagos State Imperatives.”
He said that the state government, in collaboration with local councils, would provide 300 vehicles to the police command, RRS and other security agencies.
Sanwo-Olu, who stressed that many arestill in detention over Mohbad’s case,said the case is an ongoing process, with the police ensuring thoroughness before making any announcement.
Chairman, LSSTF, Kehinde Durosinmi-Etti,said that since the establishment of the Fund, there had been positive feedback from the public regarding its effectiveness.
Also, Executive Secretary and CEO, LSSTF, Dr Abdulrazak Balogun, while giving report on the activities of the Fund, emphasised the need for a multifaceted approach to security, citing modern studies that highlight the inadequacy of a single approach in effectively addressing prevailing security challenges.
He pointed out that nations are now prioritising all seven aspects of human security to ensure long-term security sustainability.
