Ex-senate President, Bkola Saraki, has paid tribute to former Nigerian President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua 15 years after his demise.
In a tribute to mark a 15-year remembrance, the Kwara State-born senator eulogised Yar’Adua, describing him as one of Nigeria’s best, given his exemplary leadership qualities during his reign.
He said Yar’Adua led with conviction and not commotion, stressing that he offered a listening ear to his countrymen while his words were uttered with purpose and not politics
Saraki maintained that Yar’Adua’s quiet wisdom helped shape his understanding of service, and that his legacy teaches that leadership is not about power, but duty, humility, and justice.
“Fifteen years on, Nigeria still mourns one of its finest — and I still remember a friend whose quiet wisdom helped shape my understanding of service. President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua led with conviction, not commotion. He listened more than he spoke — and when he did speak, it was with purpose, not politics,” Saraki wrote on X
Yar’Adua died on May 5, 2010, while serving as president.
