School for orphans, underprivileged kids opens in Delta
Cleverminds Foundation, a Non-Governmental-Organisation (NGO), has unveiled the first free private primary school for orphans and out-of-school children in Iyara Community of Delta State.
A statement issued by the Executive Director, Zion Oshiobugie, revealed that the foundation was able to meet up its deadline of completing the building within four months in spite of the odds to tally with resumption of schools in September.
“I am delighted that the foundation made history today with this project. We cannot forget the kind-hearted persons, who supported us to realise this dream. We have no doubt that this school will contribute to the reduction of out-of-school children in Delta State and Nigeria,” he said.
The free private school in Iyara is the second operated by the foundation, while the first is located at Edjeba Community. The Delta State Government has already granted it licence to operate through the Ministry of Basic Education.
Chairman of the community, Efe Odili, lauded the foundation for the gesture of the foundation and assured of safety of the school, adding that members of the community would do everything possible to ensure that the school runs smoothly.
