SEC, ACMAN partner on capital market institute’s studies

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Association of Capital Market Academics of Nigeria (ACMAN) have entered into a partnership to develop a curriculum for the Nigerian Capital Market Institute (NCMI).

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Association of Capital Market Academics of Nigeria (ACMAN) have entered into a partnership to develop a curriculum for the Nigerian Capital Market Institute (NCMI).

This formed the highlight of a meeting between the association led by interim President, Professor Uche Uwaleke and Acting Director General of SEC, Mary Uduk.

The NCMI is the educational and training arm of the Nigerian capital market of SEC.The curriculum would enable SEC and the association to set the required benchmark to be adopted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in accreditation of capital market studies in tertiary institutions.

Uduk said the commission would work with the association to improve standards at the NCMI, while Uwaleke noted that the idea behind the association is to advance capital market research frontiers and promote capital market issues in tertiary institutions.
