Senator Dafinone congratulates sister Daphne on NIRSAL appointment
Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has extended his congratulations to his sister, Dr. Daphne Dafinone, on her recent appointment as a board member of the Nigerian Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) PLC. This follows the recent Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) restructuring, which saw the dissolution of the former board and the appointment of new leadership.
In a statement, Senator Dafinone praised Dr. Daphne Dafinone as a seasoned auditor with over 30 years of experience, particularly in corporate governance. He emphasized her vast expertise in areas such as corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and infrastructure project valuations, all of which will be invaluable in her new role at NIRSAL.
“On behalf of the Dafinone family and the people of Delta Central, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Daphne Dafinone on her well-deserved appointment as a Board Member of NIRSAL. Your appointment is a testament to your years of dedication and diligence in corporate governance, audit, and consulting roles,” said the senator.
Dr. Daphne Dafinone is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. With a PhD in Internal Audit & Corporate Governance from City University, London, she has also served as Chief Operating Officer at Crowe Dafinone. Her distinguished career includes time with KPMG Peat Marwick McLintock in the UK.
Senator Dafinone expressed confidence in her ability to contribute meaningfully to NIRSAL’s mission, which includes de-risking agricultural lending to support the sector.
He added: “We are confident that your over 30 years of experience as an auditor will be instrumental in helping NIRSAL achieve its core mandate of de-risking agricultural lending.”
He also extended his congratulations to other new members of the NIRSAL board, including Chairman Muhammad Abdullahi and CEO Babajide Arowosafe, encouraging them to guide the organization towards achieving its goals.
