Senator, monarch commend Ugwuanyi for development of Uzo-Uwani council
Representative of Enugu North Senatorial District, Chukwuka Utazi, and traditional ruler of Nkpologu Community, Igwe Simeon J. Idu, have commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for development projects in Uzo-Uwani Council Area.
Speaking when Ugwuanyi visited Utazi at his country home in Nkpologu, Igwe Idu thanked the governor for the 39km Umulokpa-Adaba-Ukpata-Uvuru-Nkpologu road, which links most communities of Uzo-Uwani Council and its headquarters at Umulokpa.
The monarch, who expressed the community’s appreciation to the governor, disclosed that before now, they were unable to access Umulokpa without passing through Nsukka, Igbo-Etiti, Udi, and Ezeagu council areas.
He added that because of the governor’s love for Uzo-Uwani, construction of the Umulokpa-Adaba-Ukpata-Uvuru-Nkpologu road has reached an advanced stage, courtesy of the state government in collaboration with Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP II).
The monarch also applauded Governor Ugwuanyi for asphalting the 26.665km Ukpabi-Nimbo-Ugbene-Ajima-Eziani road and the earthwork of the Edem Ani-Urobo-Abbi road.
While maintaining that no past government in the state had channeled infrastructure development to the rural communities as the present administration, the royal father appreciated the governor for choosing Uzo-Uwani as one of the seven benefiting council areas where Type-Three Primary Health Care Centres were being built.
He also appreciated the state government for sitting a health facility in Nkpologu and reassured the governor of the unalloyed support and solidarity of the people of Uzo-Uwani.
On his part, Utazi corroborated Idu’s statement, stressing that Governor Ugwuanyi’s achievements in infrastructure development of Uzo-Uwani Council Area were unprecedented and commendable.
He disclosed that Ugwuanyi’s administration has executed the longest earth road in Enugu State in the council area and reassured him that they would not take the state government’s considerations for granted.
