Sharada joins Kano Central Senatorial race

Former Special Adviser Broadcast to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mal. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, has picked the nomination form to contest Kano Central Senatorial District under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).

 

Sharada will test his popularity along side four other APC aspirants who have already submitted interest forms at APC primary.

 

Addressing party leadership at the state secretariat on Thursday, Sharada accompanied by mammoth supporters declared interest to represent the people of Kano Central at the National Assembly.

 

The former Chairman house of representatives committee National Security and Intelligence who presented his interest form to APC Chairman Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa assured credible representation at the Senate.

 

Sharada reminded that he possessed the best credentials among other aspirants to represent Kano Central, citing previous experiences while representing municipal Federal constituency in the House Representatives.

 

He promised to deliver more development to the district and Kano State if given the opportunity just as he urged the party leadership to ensure justice among aspirants during primaries.

 

“We have strong conviction that we can do this and that is why we are here to say we are ready to take over Kano Central Senatorial District,” he said.

 

The aspirant said his track record in public office would speak for him, adding that he had delivered dividends of democracy to his constituents during his time in the National Assembly.

 

“I have done it as a federal lawmaker. You all have seen how far I have gone while I was a lawmaker and the kind of achievements I brought to our people,” he said.

 

“If I am given this chance, I assure you that we will uplift not only the district but the state in general. I am appealing to you to give me this opportunity, and you will not regret it,” he added.

 

Responding, the Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, assured the aspirant of a level playing field in the party’s selection process. He added that the party leadership would ensure fairness to all aspirants seeking elective positions.

 

“I can attest to the capacity of Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, looking at an experience I had with him in the past. We will play a level playing ground; we shall give everybody an opportunity,” he said.
