Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) of Nigeria has opened the remodelled and newly-equipped general hospital at Kolo, Oloibiri community in Ogbia Council of Bayelsa State.

The hospital with state-of-the-art facilities, according to the company, is a 24-hour referral hub and the first of a multi-pronged health intervention projects in Oloibiri and environs.

Inaugurating the hospital on Tuesday, Governor Seriake Dickson described Shell’s intervention as timely and complementary to the government’s policy, which places high premium on the health of Bayelsans.

“Let me appreciate SPDC and its partners for also prioritising healthcare in the state by initiating the Oloibiri Health Programme. This is a laudable development,” he added.
