Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have formally presented Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli as the party’s governorship candidate to President Bola Tinubu.

The delegation, led by former Deputy Governor of the state and APC Chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo, included other prominent party stakeholders such as former Deputy Governor, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, and former Senator representing Oyo Central, Sen. Ayoade Adeseun.

Others in the delegation were Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, APC National Deputy Auditor, Mr. Gbenga Olayemi, and Mr. Soji Adedeji, among other party leaders.

During the visit, the APC leadership also presented the party’s senatorial candidates for the 2027 political cycle to the President as part of efforts to demonstrate unity and preparedness.

The senatorial candidates introduced included Engr. Remi Oseni for Oyo South, Sen. Yunus Akintunde for Oyo Central, and Chief (Mrs) Hannah Ogunesan for Oyo North Senatorial District.
Party leaders said the presentation was aimed at formally acquainting the President with the party’s standard-bearers and strengthening cohesion within the Oyo APC structure.
The delegation expressed confidence in Alli’s candidacy, describing it as widely acceptable within the party and capable of repositioning APC for electoral victory in the state.

They also noted that the move reflects renewed alignment among key stakeholders, adding that the party is working to resolve internal differences and project a united front ahead of the polls.

The presentation effectively ends months of speculation within political circles over the party’s governorship ticket, even as APC leaders intensify consultations and mobilisation across the state.
President Tinubu was said to have received the delegation and the party’s candidates, in what stakeholders described as a strategic engagement on the party’s electoral outlook in Oyo State.
