“With over 40 million Nigerians aged 15-34 currently unemployed or underemployed, it’s an economic and social challenge that cannot be overlooked,” Okwara said.

“Softwork’s mission, clear and ambitious, is to train 100,000 Nigerian youths by 2026. This mission is not just about addressing unemployment; it’s about reshaping lives and empowering Nigeria’s youth.

“Youth unemployment in Nigeria is not just a statistic; it’s a stark reality that affects countless lives.”

Quoting the National Bureau of Statistics, Okwara said the youth unemployment rate stands at a staggering 42.5 percent, with millions of young Nigerians struggling to find meaningful work. This challenge has far-reaching implications for the nation’s development.

He said through comprehensive training programs in digital skills, Softwork aims to arm Nigerian youth not just with tools for employability but also with the skills to become entrepreneurs, creators, and innovators.

Okwara called on other wellmeaning Nigerians, the government, corporate partners, and international organizations to support Softwork’s mission.

“By investing in the training of 100,000 Nigerian youths, we can collectively tackle youth unemployment, spark innovation, and shape a brighter future for Nigeria.”
