Sokoto governor bags media friendly award

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has been conferred with ‘Most Media Friendly Governor Award’ by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

A statement by his Press Secretary, Abubakar Bawa, the honour was in recognition of the developmental projects executed by the Sokoto helmsman.

NTA’s Director-General, Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos, presented the award to Aliyu during the 2024 NTA Cultural Display held at the NTA Sokoto Network Centre.

According to him, since the inception of the administration, Governor Aliyu has been executing laudable programmes, which NTA has transmitted to the larger society.

Represented by the Executive Director, Administration and Training, Muhammad Fathu, the DG lauded the patronage NTA enjoys from the state government, stating: “The award is in appreciation of the patronage we in the NTA are enjoying from the present administration.”

Responding, the governor described the award as a clarion call to deliver more dividends of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of the state.

He reassured of his administration’s determination to partner with the media on more people-oriented projects.

Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ibrahim Dadi Adare, Governor Aliyu thanked the media house for identifying with his administration, urging sustenance of the gesture.
