Spotify has unveiled a new campaign in Nigeria titled Find Your Mood, aimed at exploring the emotional connection between listeners and music. The initiative encourages users to tune into their daily experiences—ranging from calm mornings and stressful commutes to joyful weekend gatherings—and discover playlists that align with their emotional state.
The campaign introduces personalised, mood-based playlists such as Calm Mix, Focus Mix, and Good Vibes Mix, designed to reflect and respond to different moments in a listener’s day.
Speaking on the launch, Spotify’s Head of Marketing for Sub-Saharan Africa, Sithabile Kachisa, said the campaign demonstrates how the streaming service seeks to play a deeper role in users’ emotional lives.
“It’s about making every playlist feel like it was made just for you, because it was,” she said. “This campaign reflects our belief that music has the power to meet people where they are and move them toward where they want to be.”
The campaign features a short film that follows the emotional journey of young Nigerian creatives through their personal and professional struggles and achievements. Set in everyday Nigerian locations, the film illustrates how Spotify’s playlists serve as a constant presence, providing not just a soundtrack but emotional support.
Spotify says Find Your Mood is more than just a marketing push. It’s a representation of how music can serve as an emotional anchor and how Spotify aims to help people feel more connected to themselves, their communities, and the music they love.
