The management of St Raphael Divine Mercy Specialist Hospital, Ikorodu, has expressed sadness over the death of one of its patient, Mrs. Faith Odaodu-Korode, announcing the commencement of a clinical review to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In a statement yesterday, the hospital said, “The Management and Staff of St Raphael Divine Mercy Specialist Hospital, Ikorodu, are deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Faith Odaodu-Korode. We extend our profound condolences to her husband, children, family, and loved ones. We mourn with you in this moment of painful loss.”
The hospital disclosed that it immediately initiated a comprehensive internal review in line with established medical protocols.
“Following her death, the Hospital immediately commenced a comprehensive clinical review of the incident. This review is being conducted in line with standard medical protocol to ensure it is thorough, objective, and fair to all parties,” the statement read.
Reaffirming its commitment to patient care, the management stated, “St Raphael Hospital holds patient safety and quality of care as sacred duties. We remain committed to learning from every clinical outcome and to continuously strengthening our systems.”
It also noted that there is an ongoing engagement with the deceased’s family, saying, “We are in direct and ongoing contact with Mrs. Odaodu-Korode’s family.”
Addressing public discourse, the hospital urged restraint, stating, “We are aware of various accounts circulating on social media. We respectfully urge the public to refrain from speculation and to allow due process to take its course, out of respect for the family and the integrity of the medical review.
