The President, Jibowu High School Alumni Association, Mr. Tosin Kadiri, has charged alumni associations of schools to show improved commitment towards re-orientating students to prioritise learning for personal and social-economic development.
 
He also urged ‘old boys’ association to give back to their alma mater and not  to leave responsibility of funding education to the government.

Kadiri made the call, yesterday, at the Career Day organised by alumni association of Jibowu High School for the students  in Lagos. The forum attracted presentation of eye glasses/ medication to 50 students, scholarship awards of about N300, 000/prize giving and donations of learning materials to beneficiaries.
 
Kadiri, who doubles as the Vice chairman, Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Lagos branch lamented that most students nowadays have developed the notion that ‘’education is a scam,’’ hence, the need for stakeholders to correct such a misconception through proper reorientation and initiatives to encourage interest in learning.
