Sunday’s final clash: Spain and Argentina will battle for glory and bragging rights during Sunday’s highly anticipated World Cup final. However, the victor will also receive a significant financial boost alongside the iconic trophy.

Massive winner payout: The nation that manages to win the tournament will be rewarded $50million (£37m) in performance-based prize money, while the runner-up will receive $28.8m (£21.4m). This highly lucrative figure represents an $8m (£6m) increase on the $42m (€31m) awarded to champions Argentina in Qatar in 2022.

Record prize pool: FIFA has significantly increased the total amount of prize money for the 2026 tournament. The overall distribution pool now stands at a staggering $655m (£490m), representing a 50 per cent increase over the previous edition.

Guaranteed minimum payments: Even the teamsthat were eliminated much earlier in the competition will still receive substantial financial payouts. Every single participating nation is guaranteed at least $10.5 million just for qualifying for the World Cup finals.
