A station manager and female pump attendant were arrested at a filling station in Felele in Lokoja, Kogi State by men of the Nigeria Police following a face-off between them and a lawyer who came to buy fuel for his car.

The fracas started when the lawyer who bought fuel at N145 as read by my meter was asked to pay N200 per litre. The lawyer in his defense said the meter was reading N145, stressing that it would amount to cheating if he was asked to pay N200 per litre.

In the ensuing melee, the combat-ready manager and female attendant snatched the lawyer’s car key, threatening to beat him up if he attempted to move the vehicle from the filling station.

The lawyer who tried to put up some resistance suddenly discovered that the number of strange faces had increased in the filling station. He left and went to a nearby police station to lodge a complaint about the fracas. ‎While the station manager and gang of youths who he brought to unleashed terror on the lawyer and other protesters were celebrating that the lawyer had run away, a detachment of police in a van came into the filling station with the lawyer and the youths on sighting the police took off.
