The Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, has stated that the agency is not responsible for determining how many employees get promoted, addressing concerns raised by striking workers.
“We are not in charge of the number of people to promote; we are only responsible for conducting exams,” Adeyeye clarified in a statement released by Resident Media Consultant, Sayo Akintola.
She further explained that the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation (HOS) decides on available vacancies based on what the government can fund.

“It is not that there is a vacancy, and we are not promoting. The government approves vacancies every year, depending on what they can pay for,” Adeyeye added.
Responding to complaints about estacode allowances, she refuted claims of any wrongdoing, stressing that the staff have always been paid their due estacode and that the agency has never owed any staff travel allowances.
She noted that payment is only made after evidence of a completed trip is provided.
Adeyeye also noted investments in the welfare of NAFDAC employees, including the procurement of operational vehicles to aid in their work.
