Sultan, CCII hail Ladoja’s emergence as new Olubadan

Wish ex-Oyo governor a long reign
Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman of the National Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria (NTRCN), Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has congratulated Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja on his emergence as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The approval of Ladoja, who was recently nominated by the Olubadan-in-Council as the next Olubadan of Ibadan Land, was further confirmed when Governor Seyi Makinde paid him a homage at his Bodija residence in Ibadan on August 20.

In acknowledging the wealth of experience that Oba Ladoja gained through his successful career as a businessman, farmer, former federal legislator, and notably as a former governor of Oyo State, the Sultan expressed confidence in his capability to excel in his new role as Olubadan of Ibadan Land.

The Sultan noted that Oba Ladoja’s journey through the traditional cadre within the Ibadan Kingdom positioned him well to embrace the responsibilities of the throne.

“We congratulate the new Olubadan of Ibadan Land, who has been an ally for many years. As a leader with a strong consciousness of God and a commitment to the peace, unity, and development of Nigeria, we are certain that Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja will excel as the traditional leader of his people,” he stated.

The Sultan also congratulated the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and wished him the best for abiding by the wishes of the people.

Similarly, the Executive members of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) have paid a congratulatory visit to Oba Ladoja.

The CCII delegation was led by the President-General of CCII, Chief Sulaimon Adeniyi Ajewole, who is also the Aare Atunluse of Ibadanland. They were received at the residence of Oba Ladoja, located at Ondo Street, Bodija, Ibadan.

Receiving the CCII delegation, Ladoja expressed his gratitude to both the executive members of CCII as well as the sons and daughters of Ibadan within and outside Nigeria.

According to the new monarch, the visit of Ibadan indigenes both at home and diaspora, as represented by CCII, was a symbol of loyalty, support, and collaboration to jointly and collectively take Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria to an enviable and greater height.

“CCII is the umbrella body for all the socio-cultural groups of Ibadanland, home and abroad, committed to fostering unity irrespective of the difference in religion and political leanings, ensuring security of lives and property, facilitating economic, social, cultural, and infrastructural development, among others”.
