Suspected gay escape lynching in Lagos


One Olumide Micheal Allen-Taylor and his friend were rescued from being lynched by an angry mob in Aguda, Surulere area of Lagos.

The youths were alleged of being gay and practice homosexual acts. According to an eyewitness, the youths were said to have been rescued by a Pastor and some of his members were on evangelism on that faithful day.

An eyewitness, Mr. Francis Gbade said they were attacked by some angry mobs inside their abode.


The youths allegedly carried broken bottles, sticks, and other items. He stated that the youths were accompanied by one of their relatives Mr. Abiodun Sosanya.

According to the eyewitness, the youths tried to escape through the fence but were apprehended and dragged outside the compound, as they beat them mercilessly. He stated that the noise attracted quite some numbers of occupants in the neighborhood.

The eyewitness said the youths narrowly escaped being lynched on account of the pastor and some of his members, whom he said were able to persuade the angry mob from lynching them.

They have since been taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
