Taraba APC loses campaign coordinator in road crash

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has been thrown into mourning following the demise of its governorship campaign coordinator in Karim-Lamido Local Council, Abdullahi Kanti.

The Guardian learnt that the car crash that claimed his life occurred on Tuesday along Lau road.

Kanti was reportedly driving to Jalingo, the state capital, when death came calling.

The incident that threw the APC family into mourning was also observed to have shaken the party’s governorship candidate for the state, Emmanuel Bwacha.

In a statement, yesterday, the Campaign Council Director of Media and Publicity for the governorship candidate, Aaron Artimas, lamented the demise of Kanti.

Describing the death as “as a personal loss,” Bwacha, who represents Taraba South in the Senate, said his campaign council would miss “a diligent politician and notable man of peace.”

Other chieftains of the party said the vacuum Kanti left behind would be difficult to fill, especially now that election is at hand.

Despite the tragedy, which APC admitted was a setback, the party leadership, however, vowed not to work round the clock to actualise Kanti’s political dream.
