Technology key to credible polls, says Onu
The Federal Government is to develop appropriate technologies for credible elections and containment of violence.
The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, disclosed this while addressing newsmen at his maiden press conference yesterday in Abuja.
He expressed determination to improve upon his last stewardship, promising to ensure the passing into law and full implementation of Executive Order 5 which promotes local content and gives preference to Nigerian scientists, contractors and innovators.
The minister pledged food security through healthy competition among researchers, scientists and innovators for development of technologies to propel the process.
Onu enjoined Nigerians to be more involved in innovation, as science and technology were key to solving societal challenges.
