
Family sources, who spoke with journalists on the telephone yesterday, disclosed that the abductors used the victim’s phone number to communicate with the family.
The family said the abductors first demanded N100m but when the family could not raised the amount they brought it down to N30m.
“This morning again, the man of God called us and asked that his abductors are now looking for N30m. We don’t have such money, we are still begging them,” he said.
Recall that Okoriko was abducted by gunmen that invaded his compound and whisked him away on Tuesday evening.
An eyewitness told The Guardian in confidence that the hoodlums fired shots and escaped with the man of God into a nearby bush to unknown destination.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Mcdon, said the Commissioner of Police, Andrew Ammieghene, had ordered investigation into the incident.
