The Governor of Adamawa State orders immediate payment of workers salary, entitlements
Gov. Bindow Jibrilla of Adamawa on Monday directed the state Ministry of Finance to commence immediate payment of all outstanding workers salaries and entitlements in the state.
Jibrilla gave the directive while addressing workers at the state Secretariat on the sum of N7. 2 billion obtained by the state as bail-out.
“I want to direct the Commissioner of Finance to ensure that workers start getting their alert of payments without any further delay,” Jibrilla said.
Jibrilla reiterated his administration’s commitment to re-engineer the civil service to live up to its expectation in the renewed move to transformed the state.
The state Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Mamood Sali, said the state had secured a bailout of N7.2 billion for payment of all outstanding salary liabilities, pension and leave transport grants as well as other staff claims for both state and local governments.
“Also, you are aware that permanent Secretaries in the state have not been enjoying some of their entitlements, one of which is the furniture allowance which will be given to them from the N7. 2 billion,” Sali said.
In their respective remarks, the state Secretary to the Government, Dr Umar Bindir, Head of Service, Alhaji Musa Kaibo, and the state NLC chairman, Comrade Dauda Maina, lauded the government effort and tasked workers to reciprocate the measure by being more dedicated to their work. (NAN)
