Three Jigawa senators lose seats in N’Assembly

The three senators from Jigawa State have all lost their seats following the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in the state.

The three senators from Jigawa State have all lost their seats following the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in the state.

Senators Sabo Mohammed (Jigawa South-West) and Ibrahim Hadejia (Jigawa North-East) lost their bid to the governorship ticket, which was won by the Deputy Governor, Umar Namadi.

Also, Senator Danladi Sankara (Jigawa North-West) did not contest his seat, as he withdrew few minutes to the commencement of the primary election. Consequently, the immediate past Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Babangida Hussain, won the ticket with 527 votes.

Sankara’s withdrawal is contained in a letter sent to the APC.
