Tinubu bringing stability, hope to Nigeria – Okowa

Former Delta State Governor and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has expressed support for President Bola Tinubu, stating that the president is bringing stability and renewed hope to Nigeria.

Okowa made the remarks on Monday at a national summit organized by the Integrity Group of Nigeria (IGN) in Abuja. The event was held under the theme, “Renew Hope Agenda through Continuity.”

He was represented at the summit by his former Special Adviser on National Assembly and Intergovernmental Relationships, Pascal Adigwe.

Describing Tinubu as an “action president,” Okowa said the president had taken responsibility for governance and implemented policies yielding positive results.

“Tinubu’s decisions might be tough or rough, but they are yielding positive results,” Okowa said.

“He’s bringing stability. He’s bringing back hope. He’s taking the bull by the horns. He’s not referring to issues in the past or how the past was governed. He promised Nigeria that he will come to the saddle and take responsibility. That is what he has done.”

The former governor also reiterated his support for Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027, urging support groups to begin groundwork for the president.

“We have come, not with liability but assets, to make what you have built better. We are coming with our experience, with our knowledge of the terrain. We are coming with love. We are coming with resources to better the lot,” Okowa said.

At the event, IGN Convener and National Chairman Dr. Oke Idawene emphasized that Tinubu assumed office prepared to work for the country.

“The message of this afternoon is no other than to say never again shall we allow those who are stealing Nigeria’s prosperity to lead us again,” Idawene said.

He noted improvements in student access to loans and in national security.

Senator Binta Garba highlighted Tinubu’s efforts in turning around the country’s situation since taking office and expressed hope that the “Renewed Hope Initiative” would continue in 2027.

Former Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, also called on Nigerians to support the president, citing recent APC victories in by-elections and international achievements by Nigerian girls in sports.

Prof. Nora Daduut, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), commended the summit organizers and urged participants, especially women, to keep the message of the renewed hope initiative alive.
