Tinubu, Radda console Jigawa gov over mother’s death
President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, condoled with the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, the President noted that the deceased, who died on Wednesday, had been buried according to Islamic rites in the governor’s hometown of Kafin Hausa.
He extolled her community service and encouraged the family to immortalise her by continuing her philanthropic undertakings.
Tinubu urged Namadi and other family members to take solace in the good name she left behind.
EQUALLY, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State consoled his Jigawa counterpart on the demise of his mother.
His Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, registered the condolences via a statement issued on Wednesday in Katsina.
He described the passing as irreplaceable, noting that “Hajiya Maryam lived a life dedicated to the service of Allah and humanity.”
The governor added: “Hajiya Maryam’s legacy lives on through the exemplary leadership and public service demonstrated by her son.”
Radda urged Namadi to take solace in the fact that his mother left behind a legacy of good deeds, and raised children, who continue to contribute positively to national development.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of Katsina State, I extend our deepest sympathies to Gov. Namadi and the entire family during this difficult time,” Radda said.
He prayed to Allah to grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus and give the family the strength to bear this great loss.
In a related development, the governor also expressed shock over the death of Alhaji Amadi Kurfi, who also died on Wednesday at the age of 84.
“Alhaji Amadi Kurfi was not just a political heavyweight, he was a father, a figure, who nurtured many political leaders and his legacy of mentorship will continue to inspire generations,” he noted.
The governor extended his condolences to the entire Kurfi family, particularly to Alhaji Nura Amadi Kurfi and other bereaved family members.
He prayed to the Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Al-Jannatul Firdaus and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
