Tive Alex-Ibru, others grace unveiling of Kwik Delivery’s brand ambassadors
The Executive Director of The Guardian, Mr. Tive Alex-Ibru, and other dignitaries have attended the unveiling of brand ambassadors of the French-Nigerian technology startup, Kwik Delivery.
The ambassadors are Nigerian football legend, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, and power biker, Fehintoluwa Okegbenle, popularly known as Fehinty.
Speaking at the event held in Ikeja, on Tuesday, Lagos, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Romain Poirot-Lellig, said: “Kwik Delivery is a fast-growing technology company enabling Nigerian businesses and merchants to sell online, deliver to their customers, and get paid in a simple, fast and reliable manner through a smartphone app.”
He said the company counts close to a thousand delivery partners and over 70,000 B2B customers, with its operations currently covering Lagos and Abuja, and offers its customers opportunities to book bikes, vans, and trucks within metropolitan areas.
Commenting on the choice of the ambassadors, Poirot-Lellig said: “We are extremely proud to unveil these two brand ambassadors and we know that they will carry high Kwik Delivery’s values of passion and breaking of new grounds. This is a particularly happy day for us and we will soon make other announcements that will build on this momentum.”
Okocha said he was endeared to the company’s innovation and job-creation model. According to him, “since its launch in 2019 in Lagos, Kwik Delivery has become synonymous with swiftness, efficiency, passion, innovation and drive.
“Kwik Delivery is all about enabling Nigerians to succeed in their business endeavours. All qualities and virtues, which my fans and I fully recognise and that I can proudly defend as Kwik’s brand ambassador, are here.”
He said: “It is a thing of joy to be the brand ambassador for Kwik Delivery, a bold, innovative technology company in the logistics space, with branches in Lagos, Abuja, and Paris. This company truly occupies a special place in my heart. What Kwik Delivery is all about is a passion for empowering Nigerian merchants and delivery riders, a passion for customer service, speed and efficiency, and an outstanding mastery of the turf where it operates.”
Pointing out the similarities between him and the delivery company, the former Super Eagles captain noted: “As a foremost innovator in logistics technology, Kwik Delivery, since it launched in 2019, has become incomparably skillful, quick and confident in enabling amazing delivery services for thousands of customers, delivering within two hours.
“Within a very short time, the company has remarkably carved a large niche for itself as the company of the first choice in the same way I was the favourite football player for the majority of Nigerians and fans all over the world. So, you can see, I believe that our respective paths were bound to cross.
“What Kwik understands better than any other delivery platform is the Nigerian drive and passion to achieve, to succeed, to improve their livelihood, in other words: to win! And that’s what brings Kwik and me together.”
Also, expressing joy at breaking into a turf otherwise reserved for men, Fehinty said: “As a biker, I am constantly challenging myself to be more creative and break new grounds. So, I am proud to be associated with a company like Kwik Delivery, which has consistently shown its commitment to innovation, service delivery, and excellence through its many packages for Nigerian businesses.”
She added: “Another thing we both have in common is our love for speed. I am proud to announce that I will be flying the Kwik colours, which are green and white, just like the Nigerian flag, on my future trips. This means a lot to me because as a patriotic Nigerian and proud Kwik ambassador, as we all know, green represents wealth, prosperity, and progress.
“This is exactly what customers can expect when they do business with Kwik Delivery. I have no doubt in my mind that this will be the beginning of a new and exciting relationship between myself and Kwik Delivery.”
Also at the event were: media personality, Mr. Olisah Adibua; Chief Operating Officer, Kwik Delivery, Mrs. Yinka Olayanju; and General Manager, Mr. Michael Owatunde, among others.
