Afrobeats is finally taking its rightful place on the center stage of global music, and that is thanks to the talents that make amazing music that cannot be ignored. One of such talents is professionally known as Tobby Telly.

Fondly referred to as Eyan Balotelli by his core fans, Tobby Telly describes his music as Afro Wavy, a perfect description for the soothing music that he makes.

One of Nigeria’s hottest prospect, Tobby Telly has resided in Europe for over a decade, where he has been a great ambassador pushing the Afrobeats culture. Tobby Telly’s greatest strength is his ear for sound. This is evident in the way he blends music styles that he picks up from different cultures, with the Afro sound of his origin, blending it seamlessly to make Afrobeats in a way that only he is capable of; The Afro Wavy way.

The EP, Wavy Wavy Vol 1. is sweet mid-tempo Afrobeats music at its finest. From the tracklisting to songwriting, production and selection of features, Wavy Wavy Vol 1. is perfectly executed making it Tobby Telly’s best offering yet.

The EP is a documentation of his personal and untold stories, detailing the turbulence, sweet, sad, happy, numb, wavy wavy and uncertain phases of life. On the intro, Wavy Wavy Intro, Tobby Telly welcomes his fans and new listeners to the tape, detailing what it means to be on the wavy side.  To be wavy is to be stand firm, while going through a storm.

On the second track Spaceship, Tobby Telly chases a love that might not be good for. He sings about a toxic love that he is not willing to let go. This track a vulnerable side to Tobby Telly that a lot might not be familiar with. He enlisted SHOW SOME MOE on the third track, Forever, and their synergy makes the song perfect.

Forever is a song about heartbreak, possibly from the toxic love interest. A proper Afrobeats star, Tobby Telly knows how to make bangers that can get a party going, and he does that effortlessly on SOP (Paris Freestyle) and Komagbon. The EP closes with London Studio Skit, a playful tribute to his friends in the UK. Tobby Telly’s versatility and mastery of his sound is evident on the tape. He floats on every production, like a veteran in his prime, producing a truly enjoyable project.
