Tope Balogun emerges AA Lagos governorship candidate
The Action Alliance (AA) has adopted former Secretary of the Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) in Lagos State, Tope Abdulrazaq Balogun, as its governorship candidate for the state in 2023.
He emerged following his nomination and unanimous endorsement by the party members at the primary election held at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in attendance.
Balogun immediately announced the Badagry-born graduate of Mass Communication, Yemisi Henwa, as his running mate.
The party’s Deputy State Chairman, Abdul Rahman Zubayr Owonikoko, thereafter raised the hands of the party’s flagbearer amid songs and dance.
Balogun said that he would also be competing favourably with other aspirants and that he would do so with the masses behind him.
According to him, the masses’ rights have long been trampled upon and it is a privilege to be chosen to represent their common interest.
He, therefore, promised to provide 150,000 jobs to solve unemployment and also provide 24 mini vans for fire service emergencies to mitigate fire outbreaks.
