Troops arrest notorious gunrunners, recover arms, ammunition
Troops from Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in North Central have arrested five notorious gun runners in Bayamemi, Jos North Local Council of Plateau State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a competent security information source, that the suspects were arrested on September 17, during overnight operation, which was based on credible intelligence.
According to the sources, AK-47 rifles, one FN rifle, 14 AK-47 magazines, one FN magazine, 5,316 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, 98 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition and 43 rounds of 9.5mm ammunition among other items were recovered from the suspects. The sources added that the suspects, along with the recovered arms and ammunition, are currently in military custody for interrogation.
