The Acting Commander, Sector 4 Operation Hadin Kai and Commander, 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Amechi Agwu, has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of troops, pledging to continue working towards improving the living conditions of personnel and their families.
Brigadier General Agwu made the commitment during a courtesy visit by the Adamawa/Taraba States Manager of the Defence Health Management Organization (DHMO), Hajiya Rakiya Yegmi, to the Headquarters of 23 Brigade on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
While welcoming the DHMO State Manager, the Acting Commander expressed appreciation for the visit and assured her of the Sector and Brigade’s continued support for the organisation’s activities. He stressed that the welfare of troops remains a top priority under his command.
He further stated that the Sector and Brigade would collaborate closely with the DHMO to sensitise troops on the health insurance scheme in order to maximise the benefits available to personnel and their families.
According to him, strengthening synergy between the military and the DHMO would enhance healthcare delivery within the Sector.
Speaking, Hajiya Yegmi commended the Sector and 23 Brigade for their cooperation and sustained support towards the successful implementation of the DHMO scheme in Adamawa State. She noted that the registration of troops and their families through the 23 Brigade Medical Centre had recorded significant success.
The DHMO State Manager added that beneficiaries of the scheme had expressed satisfaction with the quality of healthcare services provided at the Brigade Medical Centre.
She appealed for continued support from the Sector and Brigade to enable the DHMO to fully achieve its mandate.
