Truck crushes two hawkers to death at Sango
Two persons were on Tuesday feared dead on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway when an Abeokuta-bound truck with registration number (MUS-338 XJ), had a failed brake and rammed into a NNPC Filling Station at the tollgate. A Toyota Corolla car with registration number (BC-947 FKJ) was also damaged.
The accident occurred a week after three people were killed in a multiple auto-crash, involving seven vehicles at the old tollgate, Sango, on the same route.
Though The Guardian couldn’t get much information on the crash due to the period it occurred, the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ota Unit, ACC Leye Adegboyega, said it happened at exactly 11:35p.m.
According to him, six people were involved, four males and two females, noting that the two females were killed on the spot, with no person injured.
“The body of the two victims have been deposited at the Otta General Hospital’s morgue by FRSC officials.”
Unconfirmed report has it that the victims were hawkers, who sold their wares beside the road.
