Two popular Kannywood singers, Adamu Hassan Nagudu and Yusuf Karkasara, have defected from the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nagudu and Karkasara announced their exit from the NNPP and Kwankwsiyya Movement when they paid a visit to the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, at the National Assembly in Abuja on Tuesday.

In a statement, Jibrin said the singers teamed up with other prominent Kannywood singers to form a group, Naka Sai Naka and Barau Mafita, in their quest to promote and support APC activities.

He said the meeting was also attended by two other groups, Tafiya Daya, under the leadership of Mustapha Rabiu, and Fulbe Kano Barau Mafita, a Fulani group, dedicated to promoting APC tremendous activities.

“For the decampees, I welcomed them into our party and congratulated them on making the right decision. They have chosen the best political party in Africa, a party where democracy and freedom are the guiding principles,” he said.
