Governor Uba Sani has presented the staff of office to Ishaku Tagwai Sambo as the 5th Chief of Moro’a, a First Class Chief in Kaduna State, urging him to lead with wisdom, justice, and compassion.
Speaking at the coronation ceremony in Manchok on Saturday, Governor Sani described the appointment as “a trust handed by your people and sanctioned by the laws of Kaduna State” and praised Sambo’s character, competence, and dedication to community service.
“You are succeeding a colossus, the late Chief Tagwai Sambo, your father, who reigned for 58 remarkable years, renowned for peace, patience, and purpose. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
The Governor called on the people of Moro’a Chiefdom to support their new leader, pledging government support for traditional institutions as vital partners in governance, security, and development.
“Our royal fathers are protectors of peace and promoters of progress. Through their vigilance and values, they hold our communities together,” he noted.
Sani outlined his administration’s security efforts, including kinetic and non-kinetic strategies, inter-agency collaboration, community initiatives, and support for traditional rulers.
“Kaduna State is safer and more secure thanks to the joint efforts of government, security agencies, and our revered traditional institutions. But we are not resting.
“We are rebuilding hospitals, schools, roads, and health centres, empowering youth and women, and reviving community projects,” he said.
In his remarks, Chief Sambo expressed gratitude for his appointment and pledged to uphold the legacy of his father, who he said served the Chiefdom, Kaduna State, and Nigeria with “unwavering commitment and dedication.”
“Our Chiefdom enjoyed remarkable peace, prosperity, and development under his 58-year reign. I stand here with a heart full of gratitude to His Excellency for approving my appointment,” he said.
The event was graced by Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe; Deputy Speaker Barr. Henry Magaji; Senator Danjuma La’ah; Hon. Mathew Kuzalio; Gen. Zamani Lekwot (rtd); former Deputy Governor James Bawa Magaji; Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli and other dignitaries.
