Ughelli College to hold yearly dinner in Lagos
Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association (GCUOBA) has said that it will hold its yearly national dinner in Lagos as a platform to reunite with alumni to improve infrastructure in the college.
The event will have in attendance the Amayanabo of Okpoama Kingdom, Bayelsa State, Emmanuel Banigo, as the chairman of the dinner; Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, as a special guest of honour; Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Director-General, Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), among others.
President-General Worldwide, Charles Majoroh, at a media briefing said the dinner will hold Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Sky Lounge, Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos would offer the old boys an exciting platform to reunite and discuss the state of affairs of their alma mater in infrastructural development and improving learning outcomes.
Majoroh further noted that the association is not political but a call to serve by the alumnus of the college to improve their alma mater, stating that the running of the association is not periodic but a continuum.
He said the dinner would be the end of his four years tenure in office as the President-General Worldwide, adding: “A lot has been done in the last four years of my tenure. We have remodelled the laboratories, the assembly hall, the pavilion, the proper stadium seat, the power supply system, water supply system for the houses and we have tarred all roads in the campus and we are in the process of installing solar light.”
He further said that the alumnus of the school would be conferred with life achievement awards and post-humous awards in recognition of their commitment in support the college.
