Umahi suspends aide over gross misconduct

Governor Ebonyi State, David Umahi, yesterday, suspended his Special Assistant on Executive Assistants (EAs), Senior Technical Assistants (STAs) and Technical Assistants (TAs) Affairs, Collins Eze, over alleged acts of gross misconduct.

The suspension was made known in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government/Coordinating Commissioner, Kenneth Ugbala, in Abakaliki.

Umahi, while withdrawing the state honours conferred on the embattled aide, recently, noted that the suspension is as a result of misconduct.

The statement reads: “The Governor of Ebonyi State has ordered immediate indefinite suspension of the Special Assistant to the governor on EAs STAs and TAs Affairs, Collins Eze from office for acts of gross misconduct.

“As a direct consequence of this suspension, Umahi has, in the exercise of his powers, as enshrined in the State Honours Law, 2022, approved the cancellation and withdrawal of the honours award, recently, conferred on Eze by the state government.”
