The Vice-Chancellor, University of Delta (UNIDEL) Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, has warned newly admitted students against cultism, examination malpractice, indecent dressing and other social vices or risk dismissal.

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Delta (UNIDEL) Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, has warned newly admitted students against cultism, examination malpractice, indecent dressing and other social vices or risk dismissal.

Chiemeke, who made the plea at the matriculation ceremony for 4,500 fresh students, implored those who are members of any secret cult to renounce their affiliation with immediate effect, saying cultism has no place in the institution.

“We have a zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractice and indecent dressing. The university is not a battleground for violence or secrecy; rather, it is a sanctuary for knowledge and personal growth.
“Therefore, we will not hesitate to take strict disciplinary action against any student found engaging in these unpleasant activities,” the VC stated.

Chiemeke enjoined the students to be hardworking, while seeking genuine knowledge, saying cheating undermines the values of the hard-earned degree they laboured for, after all.

She, however, advised the new students to “actively participate in extra-curricular activities, join clubs that resonate with your passion and interest,” noting that experience gained will equip them with skills that extend beyond the classroom.
