Unknown gunmen abduct students in Ughelli, Delta

Unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have kidnapped a group of students travelling along the East-West Road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the students were in a Sienna vehicle when they were hijacked Friday while coming from Calabar at the Evwreni axis of the East-West Road.

According to a security source, the Sienna conveying the group of students coming from Calabar in Cross River State was hijacked Friday night within the Evwreni axis, and the kidnappers are demanding a ransom of N10 million.

This is the third time Ughelli has been in the news in the last three weeks for the wrong reasons.

It was gathered that the police are giving the kidnappers a hot chase inside the bush in the area.

According to Delta police spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, “It is confirmed, but we are on their trail.”
