UNRBDA empowers 120 women, others
The Gender and Human Right unit of Upper Niger River Basin Development Authority (UNRBDA), Niger State, has flagged off the empowerment of 120 women, youths and people with disability.
During the flag-off, yesterday, at UNRBDA Headquarters in Tudun Fulani, Minna, Niger State, the Managing Director (MD), Prof. Mohammed Aliyu, stated that the programme, which commenced in 2017, had trained no fewer than 2,000 persons in various skills, to enable them to become self-reliant.
Represented by the Director, Legal Services, Hajiya Rabi Zakari, the MD urged the beneficiaries to pay attention to what they would be thought during the training.
The Head, Gender and Human Rights, UNRBDA, Habiba Awwal, disclosed that the programme was geared towards empowering women cooperatives and youths in catering, tailoring, leather craft, bead-making and food processing.
