Urhobo group, Ogboru, Ibori, Dafinone, others mourn Oskar Ibru at 67

Following the recent death of one of Urhobo Nation’s sons, Oskar Ibru, the Urhobo Leadership Forum, Abuja, has expressed sadness over his passing at 67.
 
Oskar is the first son of the late patriarch Olorogun Michael Ibru. The group described his death as a huge loss to the Urhobo Nation. In a statement by the President of ULF, Olorogun Peter Igho, the association said: “It is with shock that we learned of the passing away of one of Urhobo’s illustrious sons, Oskar Ibru, today.
 
“We, at ULFA, are saddened by this news and hereby send our deep condolences to his widow, the children, the Ibru family and, indeed, the Urhobo Nation.”

 Also, Great Ovedje Ogboru has expressed a great and deep shock over the sudden news of the demise of Oskar. In a condolence message made available to newsmen, Ogboru joined millions of Nigerians in mourning this significant loss, which, he believes, has impacted several lives in the Urhobo nation, Delta state, and the country at large.

Ogboru lauded Oskar Ibru’s legacy as one of service, enterprise, and generosity, noting that his vision and leadership have left an indelible mark on the sands of time.
 
Meanwhile, the former Delta State Governor, James Ibori, has expressed sadness over the death of Oscar. In a post on his official social media handles, Ibori, who described the late Ibru as a ‘dear brother,’ prayed for the repose of his soul.
 
He wrote: “Skidoo!!! So long, my dear brother! Sleep well in the Lord. Tode Olorogun Oscar Ibru. Igbruuuuuuuuuu!!!”. On his part, the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has expressed deep shock and grief over the passing of billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Oscar, describing his death as a monumental loss to the Urhobo Nation, Delta State, and Nigeria.
 
Dafinone, in the statement, said Olorogun Oscar lived an impactful life marked by excellence in business, philanthropy, and service to humanity.  He noted that Ibru’s pioneering role in commerce and industry not only put the Urhobo Nation on the global map but also created opportunities for countless Nigerians.
