Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, the Rector, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has appealed to students to take advantage of the federal government’s interest-free loan.

Odedeji spoke during the matriculation and oath taking ceremony of the newly admitted students for the 2023/2024 academic session in Abeokuta on Thursday.

The rector noted that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) remained open to fresh students in the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programs.

He stated that the gesture of the federal government would go a long way in assisting both the students and their parents in the payment of school fees.

Odedeji said that the institution was a reference point in entrepreneurial, scientific and technological education, and its graduates were proven job creators and competent employees.

He urged the current students to challenge themselves to be innovative by looking closely at people’s needs and aspirations in order to be relevant and impactful to the society.

The rector assured the students that the polytechnic’s strong relationship with industries would provide them with essential skills and vocational training, reinforcing its position as a leader in technical education in Nigeria.

He advised the fresh students to remain focused on their studies, avoid anti-social behaviors, and maintain discipline throughout their stay in the institution.

Also speaking, the Director of Students Affairs, Dr. Kolawole Amos, cautioned the new students against cultism and other forms of social vices.
Amos urged them to keep the institution’s flag flying.
