The Women’s Tech Empowerment Centre-W.Tech, in collaboration with Cummins West Africa, has empowered 100 female students at Oregun Junior High School to commemorate the International Day of the Girl-Child.

The programme was targeted at young girls who wish to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), empower, train and expose them to other opportunities they can venture into.

Cummins’ official, Favour Okoroda, while addressing the students on the theme, “Our time is Now,” urged them to stand firm on whatever career they choose in life and work towards it by not seeing limit in themselves.

According to Mrs. Mariam Abdulsalam, the session was to inspire them to pursue careers in STEM or use technology to better whatever career they choose to become in future.

She, therefore, encouraged them to be better at whatever they choose to do and not to limit themselves.
