WAWA endorses Oyefusi for Lagos Governor in 2027

Princess Islamiyat Oyefusi

The West African Women Association has called on Princess Islamiyat Abiodun Oyefusi, daughter of the late Ayangburen of Ikoroduland, Oba Salaudeen Oyefusi, to contest for the position of Governor of Lagos State in 2027.

The Group, in a statement issued to the newsmen on Wednesday, said the candidature of Oyefusi would cascade the development agenda of the state.

It added that this justifies the need for female representation in the decision-making process.

The Group expressed the readiness of Oyefusi to redirect the path of the state towards living its status of the Centre of Excellence, considering her astuteness and doggedness for a better state specifically and the country generally.

According to the Group, her community medics are a testament to her unrelenting efforts towards driving the state to a greater height.

They explained that the Medics provides free medical outreach, free mental healthcare, and free vision care for different communities in the state.

“We call on Princess Islamiyat Abiodun Oyefusi, daughter of the late Ayangburen of Ikoroduland, Oba Salaudeen Oyefusi, to contest for the position of Governor of Lagos State in 2027.

“This is as a result of our belief that the candidature of Oyefusi would cascade the development agenda of the state.

“In fact, such justifies the need for female representation in the decision-making process.

“We are certain that Oyefusi would redirect the path of the state towards living its status of the Centre of Excellence, considering her astuteness and doggedness for a better state specifically and the country generally.

“Just her Community Medics alone is a testament to her unrelenting efforts towards driving the state to a greater height.

“The Medics provides free medical outreach, free mental healthcare, and free vision care for different communities in the state.” They said.

Princess Oyefusi was the former Senatorial Aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and also the former deputy gubernatorial aspirant of the Labour Party (LP).
