
Eloho Oyegwa, CEO of Webcore Nigeria, a tech company offering digital products in the country, has underlined the impact of the firm in leading digital literacy and helping businesses leverage modern cutting edge products and services to scale up.
Webcore Nigeria, which was founded in 2014 but registered two years after, has in seven years become a key lifeline to SMEs and major businesses in the promotion of online presence, ensuring that brands, products and services are visible to targeted audiences and consumers of the end product.
The company has also been leading and championing the conversation about how enterprises can maximise tech tools to improve product and service delivery online, and move with global trend in the fast-changing environment driven by dynamic consumer behaviour.
Part of Oyegwa’s vision is to regularly expose business owners to ways of deploying digital machinery for profitability, as consumers continue to converge online more than ever before.
Oyegwa, in a recent interview, explained the influence of his education in how Webcore Nigeria has contributed to the development of the nation’s digital industry, by deliberate researches, introducing better and more effective ways to help entrepreneurs stay in business, and consistently engaging the entire ecosystem.
“Since those early periods of my life from the 1990s to the late 2000s I have observed the way computers have been used inproblem-solving and it’s use in real-world applications. This has motivated me to pursue a Diploma in Computer Science at Lagos City Polytechnic. The interdisciplinary nature of the program and the opportunity to engage in research further solidified my decision.
“If I were to consider an alternative course, I might have been inclined towards HVAC engineering, primarily because my father is into this profession and I am involved in managing the family business”, he stated.
Continuing, he said: “I graduated from Lagos City Polytechnic in the year 2011, equipped with a comprehensive understanding of computer science. Overall, my educational journey has been instrumental in shaping my expertise and passion for computer science, and I am utilizing my knowledge to make meaningful contributions in the information technology field, through research, innovation and community engagement.
“In essence, my education in computer science has not only provided me with a fulfilling career but has also enabled me to make meaningful contributions to society. By leveraging the power of technology, I continue to explore new avenues for innovation, fostering progress and creating a positive impact on the world around me”.
An Isoko man from Delta State, the tech guru explained that despite being born and raised in Lagos, he shares an unbreakable bond with his roots. The Webcore Nigeria boss revealed how the values he was raised with consistently insisted on him upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.
“While growing up, my parents emphasized the values of honesty, integrity, and respect for others,” Oyegwa recalled. “They taught me the importance of education and encouraged me to pursue my passions. I was born in Lagos State, Nigeria. I grew up in Surulere. During the yuletide season in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s my childhood was marked by frequent visits to my native hometown in Okpawha village, Aviara Town, Isoko South, Delta State. Those experiences have shaped my values, making me appreciate the importance of family, culture, and staying connected to my native Isoko roots.”
