Why Enugu should vote Mbah, by Nwobodo

L-R: Chairman, ICAN Enugu State, Mrs. Ifeoma Catherine Otiji, Dr. Peter Ndubuishi Mbah, Enugu PDP governorship candidate, and his running mate, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, during the body’s End of the Year Retreat held weekend at Nike Lake Resort and Hotel.

Former Governor of old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo, said, yesterday, that despite party affiliation, he decided to endorse the governorship aspiration of Dr. Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, because his manifesto shows deep understanding of problems of the state, adding that his interaction with the candidate confirmed it.

“Mbah’s manifesto is not just rhetoric; it is a working document, with plans of action and timelines for delivery. Who among the candidates has demonstrated that ability in practical terms?” Nwobodo asked.

Addressing reporters at his country home in Amaechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Council, ahead of Saturday’s governorship and state Assembly elections, Nwobodo rallied the people of the state to vote Mbah, saying he would bring back Enugu to the status of the capital of the old Eastern Region and the capital of the South East.

The former governor, who went down memory lane to recall how he managed the old Anambra State with “an entrepreneurial mind set” to deliver dividends to the people, who gave him the mandate, stressed that he has confidence in Mbah’s ability to move the state forward without being clannish.

“I am, today, standing behind another entrepreneur, who is passionate and desirous of delivering on his mandate. His manifesto is a practical working document. He is ready to hit the ground running. He is not just an intelligent theorist; he has practically demonstrated his ability to deliver by building an oil and gas marketing business from ground zero to a dominant institution that has overtaken multinational oil marketing companies in Nigeria.

“Mbah’s plan of action includes innovative governance, which would surely excite youths. He plans to adopt the same disruptive innovation, which saw Pinnacle Oil and Gas overtake its multinational competitors to change lives of civil servants and teachers. To make civil service and teaching attractive careers,” Nwobodo said.
