ALL Progressives Congress (APC) national stakeholder, Jamil Yola, has begun consultation with the party’s chairmen in 774 local councils to discuss the party’s problems and prospects at the grassroots, and proffer a way forward towards 2023.
The maiden meeting was held at Madagu Hotel in Yola, Adamawa State, with the 21 APC local council chairmen in the state.
Excited for being the first category in the nationwide meeting, the 21 APC chairmen commended Yola for spearheading such an important national discussion from the grassroots, despite not having any ambition for elective office.
At the engagement, first of its kind in the country, Yola remarked: “I am not looking for any position, what I’m keen about is to help in strategic thinking and, directly or indirectly, work for our party to win elections come 2023.”
He further informed the chairmen that anybody ignoring them in the scheme of things does so at their peril; hence he urged them to go back to their respective local councils to support credible party men and women by asking them to venture into politics.
Appreciating Yola’s many sacrifices in the interest of APC in Adamawa, the Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Adamawa chapter, Jingi Rufai, declared Yola as “super ALGON chairman” not only in Adamawa but Nigeria at large,
The grassroots discourse will go round the country as the 2023 elections approach.
